Nature’s Classroom

Located at the gateway to the back side of campus, Nature’s Classroom redefines outdoor learning and community engagement through a harmonious blend of education, fitness, and artistic expression. Initially envisioned as a one-acre meadow shaped like a monarch butterfly, this project overcame location challenges to emerge as a 25,000 sq. ft. transformative space.

With over 700 live perennials and thousands of native plants seeded with a custom mix, Nature’s Classroom  is as visually captivating as it is functional.  It invites students, athletes, and visitors to explore the intersection of ecology, creativity, and personal growth.

This vibrant, pollinator-friendly design integrates educational elements and features that promote natural stormwater management. With its diverse plantings and inviting pathways, it creates an interactive space for learning and environmental appreciation.
